AppMachine News John 24 Feb 2015

AppMachine has partnered up with Endurance International Group, a leading provider of cloud-based platform solutions. Endurance acquired 40% of AppMachine for $15.2 million USD. “We´re extremely pleased with this partner and the opportunity to distribute our software to a much wider base,” says AppMachine CEO Siebrand Dijkstra.

Endurance International Group is a US-based, publicly traded technology company that helps power small and medium-sized businesses online. Through its family of brands – including Bluehost, HostGator, iPage, Domain.com, A Small Orange, MOJO Marketplace and ResellerClub – Endurance supports over 3.8 million subscribers around the world.

Almost 4 million clients

AppMachine’s software will now become available for almost 4 million Endurance clients worldwide. “This is a huge opportunity to distribute our product to a wide and growing base, ”says Siebrand. “Can you imagine? A partner that brings in almost 4 million potential clients! Of course, not all will be using AppMachine, but we’re really excited to have the support of such a well-established and respected player in the digital products space.”

“Too often, we have seen that the best technology was beaten by the best marketing. Now the best technology joins forces with the best marketing.”

Mobile solutions for SMBs

AppMachine is especially pleased with the Endurance partnership because Endurance believes, as AppMachine does, that there is a large and growing opportunity in mobile solutions for SMBs. “This is our chance to scale-up our international exposure extensively, ” Siebrand proudly says.

Client benefits: new technology

Are there any changes to be expected after the AppMachine/Endurance partnership? “Oh yes,” says Siebrand, “we will be able to develop new and better technology a lot faster. That will be a big benefit to all our clients.” For the last 14 months AppMachine has been working on a HTML5 web app solution that enables people to build web apps that are instantly available in the browser without the need to be published in the app stores. “These apps will soon be available to all our clients. And we will see more innovations later this year.”

The AppMachine management team will stay the same. “Never change a winning team”, Siebrand says, “And Endurance wants us to be who we are: innovative and passionate software makers.
