Google’s AdMob in-app advertising program for iOS and Android apps is now available for all AppMachine apps. Let’s bring in those advertising bucks!
Mobile advertising is expanding enormously as a growing number of companies adapts a mobile first or mobile only marketing strategy. Mobile advertising will top over $6.8bn by the end of 2019, says Business Insider. A part of that can be yours now!
With the AdMob integration AppMachine fulfils the long-cherished wish of many app builders to monetize their app as in-app advertising is the best way to get your fair share of that expanding mobile advertising budgets.
AdMob, which claims to already have paid $1 billion to developers, offers AppMachine apps two advertising options: a banner on top or bottom, and an so-called interstitial (a whole page). They’re native ads, text, still image and video, so user experience remains the way you want it to be.
First: create your AdMob account. Then go to the AppMachine Designer and on the left you’ll see a ‘Monetize’ tab added. Just choose your ad format and adjust settings such as the refresh rate of a banner. Top and bottom banners will show continuous ads, an interstitial (the whole page ad) shows up as often as you want it. Whatever you choose, be careful to not overload your app with ads.
Apply Admob filters to block ads you don’t want to appear in your app. AdMob offers several filters such as general categories (eg real estate, vehicles), sensitive content or even an advertiser url filter to block your competitor’s ads.
According to the AdMob Help Center “The AdMob payment cycle is monthly. You’ll accure estimated earnings over the course of a month. At the beginning of the following month, your earnings are finalized and posted to your balance.”
So your earnings are posted to your balance… Doesn’t that sound good? But, again according to AdMob ” you have to be aware there are several earnings thresholds that impact whether you’re eligible to be paid for your AdMob earnings. These thresholds vary depending on the reporting currency in your account. Check the AdMob Help Center for further information.
AdMob mainly is profitable when your app has a large audience. Does your app service a small audience? Or do you own a local app? You might be better off using one of the other options for in-app advertisements.
AppMachine is developing another custom made advertising program which will be available soon. In the meanwhile, to place your own ads, you could use your top images in the app as an advertisement, including a link to a landing page. Or make your own banners as an image in your content, or use eye-catching text links in your copy to show websites in your app.
