The Bokone Bophirima Tour app promotes the sights and sounds of South Africa’s North West Province with a clear insight into the province’s broad tourism and leisure options.
Developer Kagiso Tshirang set a high level for himself when he started building the app. “I wanted to stimulate and simplify tourism in our province by making all information easily accessible in one place. My idea to develop a mobile app was also motivated by seeing a gap in the promotion of our rural tourism.”
The resulting Bokone Bophirima Tour app is packed with information. It brings the arts and culture at user fingertips, offers a personalized guidance on the go for local and international tourists and provides users with the latest info about events, national parks, game reserves, hotels and even shopping areas.
“The app helps us to market our rural tourism internationally and makes it easier for travelers to visit the province,” says IT business analyst Kagiso Tshirang. “We have a great following on social media sites as Google+, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and the app is a valuable addition to our digital marketing. We also use push notifications a lot to interact with our users.”
Kagiso chose AppMachine to build his Bokone Bophirima Tour app. “I discovered AppMachine after a lengthy search for and app platform with an integrated Point of Interest (POI) functionality. I tried a couple of other app makers but they couldn’t offer what AppMachine does. The POI feature is a salvation if you want to show several interesting locations. We even have included filters so that travelers to Matlosana or Pilanesberg National Park only see the points of interests in that specific area. If you want to see all the province’s highlights, you just change your filter to all. That turns the app into a personalized guide.”
